About the event
Workshop blurb:
Clearly communicating complex research is a core academic skill—and one that takes intentional practice early in candidature. This 1.5-hour interactive workshop is designed for Dream + Plan candidates who want to build confidence in presenting their research to an academic audience, with a focus on the three-minute format required for the Doctoral Summer School.
This workshop utilises examples, discussion, and practical activities through which you will learn how to clearly and succinctly articulate your central research ideas to an academic audience, use visuals to effectively support your presentation, and deliver your talk with confidence and impact. During the session, you will have the opportunity to develop your own three-minute presentation as well as receive constructive feedback from workshop presenters and peers.
Participants are encouraged to bring any materials (e.g. a research proposal or an outline) that will help them work on their presentation.
