Arome's Story

Arome Ibrahim is an impact entrepreneur, business analyst, and immersive technologist dedicated to leveraging emerging technologies for business and social good. He holds an Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Impact Entrepreneurship, with joint diplomas from the Zagreb School of Economics & Management (Croatia), ISM University of Management and Economics (Lithuania), and HEC Liège Management School (Belgium).

Arome's research interests include: innovation and technology management, impact entrepreneurship, sustainability studies, and applications of immersive technology (VR, AR, Metaverse). Before entering his doctoral program, he led Immersive Tech Africa, a transformative initiative aimed at democratizing access to Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence across Africa. Through the XR Innovation Launchpad program, he has empowered over 2,000 aspiring creators with essential VR and AR skills and organized the XR Innovation Summit, Africa's leading virtual XR conference.

His work has earned him prestigious honors, including the Next Economy Entrepreneurship Hero and Impact Award from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SOS Children Villages, selection as one of the Top 50 Voices in VR, AR, and 3D by Threedium UK, and recognition as one of ten emerging African creators by Garage Stories and the New Images Festival in Paris. He has also spoken at influential events such as the Augmented World Expo Europe and Laval Virtual Paris. Arome embodies the belief that technology entrepreneurship can drive positive global change, fostering social progress and economic empowerment.

Arome is particularly excited about DREAM+PLAN's innovative approach to regenerative futures research, which moves beyond the traditional "do not harm" mindset. Instead, it actively encourages regeneration and positive impact. Having spent years observing how emerging technologies can either widen or bridge societal gaps across Africa, Arome is thrilled by the program's commitment to creating solutions that not only preserve the status quo but also actively restore and regenerate  communities and ecosystems.
