Jonathan Bracq

DC9: Resilient Technological Strategies to Reduce Decision-Making Uncertainties.

Jonathan is a doctoral researcher and MSCA Fellow in DREAM+PLAN, employed at LUT University, Kouvola, Finland and co-enrolled at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia in a Double Degree Position.

Jonathan's Story

Jonathan joined DREAM+PLAN as a PhD candidate at LUT University (Finland) and RMIT University (Australia) in summer 2025.

His research focuses on exploring and optimising the integration of electric vehicle (EV) charging into the electricity grid to increase grid stability, reduce charging costs, and limit the need for grid expansion.

The collaboration with Kempower, a rapidly growing European manufacturer of advanced fast‑charging equipment with a strong research focus, links the project directly to real‑world challenges.

Jonathan holds a BSc in Energy Management from Biberach University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and an MSc in Energy Science and Engineering from the University of Limerick (Ireland). His academic path is driven by a commitment to supporting the global energy transition and accelerating climate action. Beyond academia, Jonathan volunteers with a German climate‑action NGO as part of their energy expert group. This role allows him to link scientific insights with policy and public engagement to support practical climate‑protection measures.

What excites Jonathan most about the DREAM+PLAN programme is its international framework, which connects students, universities, and partners across multiple countries. He looks forward to the variety of experiences this brings and the opportunity to build a broad professional network.
