Matteo's Story
Matteo's PhD position is with the Institute of Responsible Innovation at the University of St. Gallen, as part of the DREAM+PLAN program.
He comes from Gallarate, a small town near Varese in northern Italy, and holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Management Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, where he specialized in innovation and sustainability.
After graduating, he moved to Munich to join 27pilots - the pioneering startup inventor of the venture client model, recently acquired by Deloitte Germany. There, he led the startup intelligence team, working closely with leading corporates such as BMW, Bosch, Holcim, Siemens, Airbus, and Equinor. His work focused on startup scouting and market research to support corporate innovation strategies, managing a team of working students and serving as project manager for startup proof-of-concept initiatives.

Matteo’s research interests lie at the intersection of climate change, social impact business models, and the ethical and responsible development of artificial intelligence.

Matteo is most excited about collaborating with people who share the same purpose: fighting climate change and creating meaningful impact in the world.
