Jackline's Story
Jackline Bwana is a Tanzanian policy professional and researcher whose career has been defined by one through-line: using data and digital innovation to make development work more equitable and effective. She joins DREAM+PLAN as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Candidate after completing a Master's in Public Policy at the Hertie School in Berlin and a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Population and Development) from Mzumbe University in Tanzania.
Across more than six years of professional experience spanning Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Rwanda, and Germany, Jackline has built monitoring and evaluation systems for WASH programs, supported women's entrepreneurship and green transformation initiatives across eight African countries at GIZ, and co-developed digital learning content on the 2030 Agenda at the UN System Staff College in Bonn. As Data Manager at mWater/Solstice, she led the digital transformation of data collection processes across multiple countries and trained over 200 practitioners in data literacy and platform use. At Anzisha Ventures, she served as Hub and Local Partnerships Director, building technology-enabled ecosystems for entrepreneurship across Africa.
Her doctoral research focuses on the role of digital platforms in connecting sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems across geographic boundaries.
