5-Day Annual DREAM+PLAN Doctoral School (2026)

The First DREAM+PLAN Doctoral School brings the full cohort together in Finland

The first DREAM+PLAN Doctoral School took place from 18 to 22 May 2026 at LUT University in Lappeenranta, Finland. The five-day event brought together all 34 enrolled Doctoral Candidates for the first time, alongside supervisors, local experts and external speakers, creating an inspiring environment for learning, exchange and collaboration.

Focusing on resilience, restoration and regeneration (R3), the programme explored how interdisciplinary research can contribute to climate-positive futures. Through workshops, industry talks, roundtables and student-led sessions, participants connected theory with practice, examined digital and green transitions, considered pathways to research impact, and strengthened their communication and collaboration skills.

A major highlight was the three-minute research pitch session, during which every Doctoral Candidate introduced their research to the wider cohort. The poster session provided a further opportunity to showcase their work visually, exchange ideas and identify potential synergies and collaborations…
