About the event
About this Session:
This session will focus on introducing key concepts of Transdisciplinarity for Urban Sustainability (including the notions of multi/inter/trans/cross disciplinarity and distinctions between them) as well as considerations to bear in mind in one's research journey. We will explore why urban and sustainable development are closely associated, providing practical examples of the crucial role of cities in responding to the SDGs from housing and urban planning. This session will have a strong focus on applied research and critical reflection in problem-solving.
Guest Presenter:
Roderick Lawrence graduated from the University of Adelaide (Australia) with First Class Honours. He has a Master’s Degree from the University of Cambridge (England) and a Doctorate of Science from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale, Lausanne, (Switzerland). In 1999 he was nominated Professor in the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Geneva. He was promoted to Honorary Professor in October 2015. He…
